POLYAMIDE 66 THREADS

POLYAMIDE LOOKS, FEELS, AND SEWS LIKE NYLON THREAD. THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS THAT POLYAMIDE HAS SUPERIOR SUNLIGHT (UV) AND MILDEW RESISTANCE. THIS MAKES IT THE FIRST CHOICE FOR SEWING THINGS THAT ARE USED OUTDOORS OR BUILD TO LAST!

THE WHAT AND WHY:

POLYAMIDE 66 THREADS

Polyamide 66 Threads are made up of macromolecules with repeating units liked together by much stronger amid bonds (Chemical Bonds), rather than other threads that are held together by ester bonds.

These threads show high elasticity more than normal polyester and nylon threads that are more commonly available in the market. Therefore they are more suitable to sew curved shaped pieces of leather, vinyl or fabric without any signs of ungainly puckering and corrugations at the seams.

They have the properties of well wear resistance, high strength and controlled stretching, and are UV resistant, repel moisture and also color fade resistant. Due to these unique properties these threads have become very popular among various industries. They are preferred for stitching multi-ply leather gears and because the continuous filaments are tightly twisted and packed together. When in cross top stitching (French Stitching) the needle will not enter the center of the other top stitches and create a very consistent and uniform French Stitching when finished.

AGAINST MOISTURE

they contain less moisture than any other threads in the market, the moisture content is a relative %3 therefore they are quickly dried after being exposed to moisture.

AGAINST ACID

the impact of acidic elements in low concentrations are significantly less that any other threads.

AGAINST TEMPERATURE

they start to deform in 170 degrees Celsius and will start to melt at 260 degrees Celsius

AGAINST BREAKING

they are resistant to loads and repeated strokes. They do not easily become deformed and have a fantastic capability to revert to their original shape due to its unique molecular structures and chemical bonds.

AGAINST SUNLIGHT

they are UV resistant and can retain their shape, color and integrity for a long time.

AGAINST ALKALINE

they are resistant to alkaline in general. They retain their total integrity up to 50% alkaline concentration.
